Zowel bij de landschappen als bij de portretten speelt fotografie een belangrijke rol. Soms valt er aan de beelden niets meer toe te voegen en dan worden de foto's als autonome werken gepresenteerd. Zo resulteerde een reis naar Nieuw-Caledonië in 1998 in een groot aantal foto's van mangrovebossen, opeengepakte wortels, in het water voorkomende vegetatie en organische structuren. In 2000 zijn enkele van deze foto's op zeer groot formaat afgedrukt en gepresenteerd. Vaak echter vormen deze fotografische impressies een belangrijke stimulans bij het tot stand komen van de schilderijen.

Quotes (English)Photography plays an important role in both landscapes and portraits. Sometimes there is nothing to be added to the images, and the pictures are represented as autonomous works of art. A trip to New Caledonia in 1998, for instance, resulted in a large number of pictures of mangrove forrests, crammed roots, vegetation found in water and organic structures.
